	New YSI Ecosense Handhelds Provide Affordable, Durable Field Measurement	Sept. 1, 2003
	Yellow Springs, OH - YSI Environmental announces the introduction of its most affordable line of compact, handheld field instruments for measuring water quality. YSI's new instruments - the pH100, DO200, and EC300 - feature an easy-to-use interface, one-hand operation, water resistant case, and low cost of owenerhsip over the life of the product. According to YSI Environmental Marketing Manager Patrick Higgins, "The EcoSense product line allows us to offer our customers the accurate, reliable data they're accustomed to from YSI, but at a very affordable cost. They're well-suited for measuring parameters such as pH, DO, and conductivity in industrial water sampling and spot checking applications." The pH100 measures pH or mV and temperature. It features an autolock mode, electrode efficiency display, auto/manual temperature compensation, automatic buffer recognition, one-year warranty, and a variety of cable/electrode options. The DO200 offers dissolved oxygen and temperature measurement simultaneously. Features include easy-to-install PE screw-on cap membranes with low stirring dependence; temperature, salinity, and pressure compensation; and quick, accurate calibration routine. It is available with a 4- or 10-meter cable. The EC300 measures conductivity, specific coductance, salinity, TDS, and temperature. It features YSI's "super-stable," field-proven 4-electrode conductivity cell and one-year warranty. It is available with cable lengths of 4 and 10 meters.
