Increase your fish's health and survival rate
Breeding and raising fish in aquariums can sometimes be a futile task, especially for many egg-laying species, unless the water quality conditions are just right. Over 1,000 Nicaraguan Cichlids have been successfully reared with the help of the pH10 and DO200. On the main tank, the YSI 5200 Recirculating System Monitor continuously monitors temperature, pH, ORP, conductivity, and dissolved oxygen. In order to determine the accuracy and calibration routine, the pH10 and DO200 are frequently used to quickly spot check the tank to determine the monitoring system is working correctly. When the pH levels dropped quickly over a weekend it was assumed the 5200 pH sensor needed cleaned or maintained. A quick check with the pH10 confirmed that the 5200 was in fact reading correctly and corrective actions were taken immediately to raise the pH levels. The DO values are also evaluated based on the DO200.

The pH10 Protects a Homeowner's Investment & Natural Resources
The home aquarium trade is a thriving business and as any hobbyist can tell you, it's also expensive. Protecting your livestock in a home aquarium can mean the difference between having a beautiful showcase aquarium or sleeping on the couch after spending so much time and money! A 75-gallon reef aquarium can accommodate a lot of livestock if properly maintained. Keeping the pH level within a tight range is vitally important not only to the fish but also for the ability of the reef creatures to properly uptake life sustaining nutrients. Using the pH10 to test the water in this tank has been an important task in maintaining appropriate pH levels and making a decision on whether to start dosing to correct those values or not. A local aquarist tells us, "I use the pH10 to keep my tank in the proper balance. I feel much better knowing I'm not wasting money or time on reef supplements that my animals can't use. I also like knowing that I'm maintaining a very healthy tank so I don't have to frequently purchase, or replace, my livestock that are often taken in the wild."
